Canada Learning Bond - CLB

The Canada Learning Bond (CLB) is a grant provided by the Government of Canada to help families save for their children's education.

Initial Grant and Annual Contributions

In the first year, the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) provides a $500 grant deposited into the RESP, along with an additional $25 to help cover the cost of opening the account. After that, an extra $100 is added each year until the child turns 15.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the CLB: The child must be born after December 31, 2003. The parent must receive the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS), typically available to families with a net annual income below $37,885.
